Day 2: Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut.

Your ascent continues as you leave the montane forest and enter the heathland and moorland zones. Admire unique flora like the giant heather, fairy-tale-like giant groundsels, and lobelias. This day offers your first clear views of the peaks, Mawenzi and Kibo, as the surrounding landscape transitions into a dramatic alpine environment.

After savoring the stunning sunrise and the glaciers, descend back to Kibo Hut for breakfast and rest, then continue to Horombo Hut for a well-earned night's sleep.
